Once Upon a Broken Heart was a surprise for me. I had no interest to the carnival series but this book interested me more. The world felt so like a fairytale and magical. It was probably built from their previous series but the world was easy to imagine without knowledge from it. The setting and tone reminded me so much like Shrek which just made me happy to countiune reading.
Evangeline Fox, the Protagonist, was likeable from the get go. Being the romantic type she is, the narrative is pushed along with her actions. I like her immediately because of her romantic and sympathy side. Rooting for her happily ever after was pretty easy for me.
I was also liked the plot twists!
The one little problem I had for the book was I wished there were more romantic moments between Evangeline and Jack's. The other problem I had was the erupt ending. But those are the only problems I had.
This book was best fairytale romp I could ask for. And I will excitedly wait for the sequel!
