I didn't find the book particularly compelling as a country house mystery; the murder wasn't resolved particularly cleverly not was there any narrative tension surrounding the reveal of whodunnit. The historical part was quite well done, with broad historical accuracy so it was nice that that didn't take me out of the story.
The ending was somewhat egregious in my opinionleaning on class and power to avoid any consequences despite the established views of Lord Went water. Daisy's plan wasn't even clever to fix every thing
The ending was somewhat egregious in my opinion
Graphic: Injury/Injury detail, Murder, Sexual assault, and Sexual harassment
Moderate: Colonisation
