Perfume: The Story of a Murderer by Patrick Süskind

4.0

This story is bizarre, chaotic, and befuddling, which is exactly what I enjoy in a novel. But for a story basically about trying to bottle the scent of human skin, it's not as gory as I thought it would be. And honestly, I kind of wanted a little bit more of the murderous skin-crawl vibe. This book mainly focused on the main character developing his skills as a perfumer, the murder comes later.
