I like the use of culture and community in this book a lot, and I thought the side characters were mostly pretty interesting, but I just found the leads both to be such wet noodles. I think a lot of it was that it was very YA and thus the relationship drama felt very twee and even more so than adult romance relied on characters just failing to have obvious, basic conversations. Probably if I was at a point in life where I could connect better to those teen feelings, I would have liked it better.
