lindsjens 's review for:
Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe
by Fannie Flagg
Man, I reread this, which I usually don't do and I think it's a sign that I really just shouldn't... because I did not like it as much this time. If I had been reading it for the first time, I would have given it two stars, maybe one.
What I did find interesting this time was Fannie Flagg, as an author/actor. I watched some old episodes of the Match Game and it made me want more authors on television shows now. Like Hollywood Squares or whatever. I mean, I guess they're pseudo-celebrities on twitter and the internet. There are funny lady comedian/actors and I guess they've all written books, but it seems like an after thought. I want someone to get famous from writing books and then get asked to do weird game shows. Then maybe have a public feud with another author.
---
I laughed, I cried... what more could you ask for in a book?
