Honestly this is the best book I read this year and I absolutely needed to read this this year. There's not enough books about black lesbians let alone black lesbian history! The selections of works featured are wide and diverse! The folks featured in here also give me hope I too can become an old black lesbian. This is 100% a tough read (see content warnings) but this is inspirational to me because of the radical black feminist future this book has put into my mind.
My one last warning about this book is that some sections use 'womyn' instead of women and I know nowadays it's a terf-y thing, but I'm going to assume it was before terfs took over it because those specific sections are from before the 2000s.

Graphic: Homophobia, Racial slurs, Racism, and Classism
Minor: Fatphobia and Outing
