The Book of Spells: 150 Magickal Ways to Achieve Your Heart's Desire by Ella Harrison

informative lighthearted fast-paced

3.75

For my purposes, this book was solid, but not quite a standout — a beginner may find it more useful than I! I did notice the Wiccan influences, which Harrison admits to herself, and personally wanted more clarity on the correspondences section: why does Hazel have a certain set of correspondences? Why do certain crystals have certain properties?

That being said, I got some good ideas here, some spells to try, and some concepts of ways of spellcasting that were new to me! (Enchanting a box of jewelry to enchant and charge the jewelry inside, rather than doing each individual piece? That's so nice!) A pleasurable, quick read, but I'm not sure I'd add the whole thing to my home library, so I'm glad I got it from my local.
