Emma
by Jane Austen
There’s an enjoyable familiarity with the story of Emma (Clueless?). I like the way Austen presents Emma in an almost juvenile way, as it makes her character progression much more enjoyable. From a carefree - but occasionally heartless - young girl who enjoys gossiping and matchmaking, to understanding that love can be more important than social climbing, and more important for the longevity of the relationship too
