Romantic Comedy
by Curtis Sittenfeld
I liked the “real life” nature of this book but it is barely a romance novel because of that. It definitely has romance elements but leans more towards a straight up novel due to addressing major issues like the pandemic. I think it’s cute and sweet and I liked the characters. They interact in authentic ways. Not a romance novel but still good had good romance and love. The FMC had some challenging character traits that were frustrating to read but rang true for me and I imagine for lots of people who have insecurities and low self esteem. I did want to just shake her and tell her to stop it with the self sabotage but that’s how you know the book got you invested!
