Being Lolita: A Memoir by Alisson Wood

There’s a review on here that describes what I want to say perfectly. For the sake of this review I felt somewhat mislead by the tittle due to the non-Lolita elements of this memoir. My aim is not to discredit the authors trauma in any sense because I can relate in a non-educational setting. What happened to her shouldn’t have happened, this “relationship” was wrong. However, selling the book this way was super misleading due to the age she was. That’s not to say that her experience wasn’t as bad as Lolita but it wasn’t similar by any means. I feel horrible saying I was bored and I wasn’t invested in the style of story telling especially with something I’ve also experienced. I wish healing to Alison
