My Name Is Mina by David Almond

5.0

A beautiful, thoughtful reflection on what it means to be different, to undergo tragedy and keep existing in the world, to question and see and dream and love.
I loved Mina's character and the narrative thread interwoven in between her wonderful reflections on life, philosophy, death. Almond made something very special in this novel, in a way that transcends age. I would love to share this novel with children, young adults, and adults.
