House of Slaughter, Vol. 1: The Butcher's Mark by Tate Brombal, James Tynion IV

adventurous dark funny relaxing sad fast-paced
  • Strong character development? It's complicated
  • Loveable characters? Yes
  • Diverse cast of characters? Yes
Well, that was heart-wrenching—so uncalled for😔
Aaron and his cane are a comedic duo tbh, him wanting to always knock someone out with it will never not be funny.
I think the romance was engaging and heartwarming but there's no on-page bonding of their relationship; as for the rest of the plot, there were some holes. I think Tynion had to cover so many storylines that it ends up being a little predictable and messy.
I still liked it though and would love to read more of Aaron and Jace's story.
