Hidden Lies by Rachel Ryan

slow-paced

4.0

This was a great psychological thriller, great little page turner. Just when you think you've figured out the story, the author throws something else at you and gets you rethinking your thoughts all over again. Great concept and plot, but all I can say is I'm glad I don't have kids reading this, id be paranoid 😂!

Following Georgina, a mum who's working and studying, a husband with secrets up his sleeve and a father with a secret past. It's no wonder Georgina's mind went wandering when her son mentioned his 'new granny'.

I loved that this book tapped into creepy and mysterious with twists on sanity and mental health. I rolled my eyes a few times at Georgina as I was reading along, especially with the neighbour in his back garden. That one seemed obvious to me, which at times got me wondering if Georgina was in fact loosing her mind, but no she was smarter than she seemed.

I did find some parts are slightly repetitive and shall we say the inner dialogue specifically. I eventually found myself skipping some of those parts at a certain part. However, it is a quick and easy read packed with lost of twists and turns and I did thoroughly enjoy it.
