Glad I didn't gave up on it 30% in.
I don't know why I struggle with the characters created by RJB.
I never really connected with the characters in divine cities trilogy. But they were very very cool.
I did not feel the same way about these characters. But this book is very plot driven. There is a lot of info dumping and world building. Which to be fair, is RJB's strength.
And I loved the world and magic(?) system in this book. It was quite unique. And though I am not individually interested in characters, they were distinct and the interactions were keeping me interested. I also enjoyed the humour.
I just wish that the characters are more fleshed out.
