I’ll be honest with you yeah… I’ve been trying to write this review for 2 days, and I cannot put this mindfuckery of a wonderful creation into words.

ALASKA WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME?!  And more so, please have some consideration for my bank account because I cannot stop buying these books.  One quarter in and I'd already ordered the third book.

Please don't take this lightly when I say this one is not for the faint hearted.  No one should have to experience what Ev (FMC) goes through in this book, it's truly horrific and the worst part is that this shit happens in real life, just where we can't see it.
I can't stress enough that this series contains ALL triggers, however, still check them as things may come up that you're not aware of.
White Out is full of blood, torture, and revenge and I can’t stop thinking about what was done to Master Kuhken, truly vile but oh so deserved.  If you want me to put it into perspective, books never make me feel physically ill and this particular scene had me gagging and taking a minute to breathe (page 218 of paperback).

Ev states numerous times how she can’t trust anyone, I'm over here like... trust? I hate everyone what do you mean.
The level of 'assholeary' is unmatched and A.A. Dark really has a way of making us dislike the characters we're meant to. The bad guys really are the bad guys and there is no denying it.  I can see why Ev feels love for these characters though,  she's been deprived of affection for the majority of her life so it’s no surprise she craves the small and meaningless loving interactions from these main masters who claim to love her.   But a little like how Ev feels, my emotions towards these characters are so conflicted; my brain physically hurts. One character in particular, I want to hate him so bad, so so bad, but I just can’t.  I don't think I've ever read a book that reads the way Alaska’s do, I see it all, I feel most of it and it is painfulllllll.

This series is the literal definition of character development,  we’ve seen every single character change and evolve, and not always in a good way.  Ev starts out as a submissive slave held down by the masters above her, while she would shy away from confrontation she still always had a powerful spark inside her, waiting for the fire to erupt.
We saw this fire in the last couple of pages of book 1 however she still had some slave traits in her.  Throughout book 2 we are watching her find her footing and peel herself away from her slave personality and I couldn’t be prouder of her for fighting with every ounce of her being.  At numerous points in White Out we had hope that she’d made it out on-top, then she would get knocked straight back down again. Whenever you think Ev is going to win, she doesn't.  Shit just keeps happening but somehow it doesn't get repetitive.  I truly mean It when I say this is the heaviest and most incredible plot I’ve ever read.

Hahaaaa ha, the fact you're even contemplating reading this series has me giggling and wiggling my toes.  I’ll pay for your therapy don’t worry.

This is the 2nd book in a 4-book series and they MUST be read in order.

If you haven’t started the Alaska Angelini, A.A. Dark universe you're missing out on more than you can comprehend.  So go read 24690.
