I listened to Natasha's memoir and was blown away by her story. Without divulging too much, I will share that Memorial Drive takes us on an emotional ride, navigating racism, abuse and grief. There were memories described that were hard to get through. But they painted an honest look into the complicated dynamics of abusive relationships, and of the author's experience growing up immersed in one.
Natasha was the United States Poet Laureate for 2 years (2012-2014), and her gift shines through in her writing of tragedy and hope.
TW/CW: racism, bullying, mental illness, death of a parent, domestic violence, abuse, true crime
