Nova finds herself orphaned after the death of her parents. A few weeks later she receives an even bigger shock. Her dad fathered a baby and that baby is now an orphan. When trying to get custody of the child, Nova learns that she isn’t the only one who wants it. She learns the child’s mother’s foster siblings want to adopt the baby….and they’re hot hockey players. When they lose their bid for custody, they know their only shot is to pay Nova to move in. But can the relationship stay platonic for long?
The concept of this book had a ton of potential. However the author tried to do too much in a short space. Nova’s shock/feelings regarding her father having cheated on her mom are glossed over. Two of the guys survived extensive child abuse and aren’t doing great but that’s glossed over. The poly relationship blowing up in the media is such a blip. Any one of those things listed could have been the big thing in the book and it would have been better. Also it jumps between all 4 MCs perspective and it’s not always clear whose head we’re in so that wasn’t a lot of fun.
