Make no mistake: You're reading it for the art. What starts out as a fun enough story about an everyman becoming embroiled in a galactic conflict eventually degenerates into pseudo-spiritual nonsense where no conflict can truly exist because the overwhelmingly powerful and omniscient mcguffin so thoroughly dominates the story.

But the art is *very* good.
