Didn't enjoy this the same as Butcher and Blackbird. It is nice to see Lark as the main character and learn more about her story. Lachlan is also a strong character who defends his family even at great cost to himself. Sexy times aren't until the last half to 3/4 of the book. There was a graphic violent scene in the second chapter which got to me in a way the graphic scenes in Butcher and Blackbird didn't. Details in spoiler.

Scene in second chapter (where Lachlan is working for boss) where they torture a guy, Boss grinds up his teeth in a blender and makes the victim drink it. Very detailed, made me gag.
