Building Bridges by Lia Fairchild

5.0

This is the first book I have read by Lia. I love seeing Lincoln and Mollie grow as a couple but also seeing them try to keep things simple to not disrupt the family that both are trying to protect. These two have history together and some of their past is remembered but some is not. Lincoln left home right out of high school to join the Army and during his time he was injured. He is dealing with that while also dealing with the death of his step mom and aunt. It was the loss of these two women that brought him back home to help out. One night his niece Belle gets hurt and is taken to the hospital where he reconnects with Mollie who he remembers from high school. She has concerns that Belle isn’t being properly taken care of so a desk is made that Mollie will come over so she can see that Belle is loved and taken care of. Feelings grow during this time. Not just feelings of love but for some feelings of hurt and betrayal. This is the story of love, second chances, healing and forgiving. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
