The Alchemist is an okay story which includes a few nuggets of wisdom. It is probably best suited for young readers.
For a Christian allegory it does alright. The writing style felt very much in the same vein as any fiction from CS Lewis, which is not my favorite. However, if you're one of those who find the Narnia series charming this may very well be worth a read.
