This was a book that just really hit home. As a 30 something I related so much to Harriet and her college friends, the struggles of growing up. The change of seasons from young adult to full adult, finding your path in life, and how the relationships you carry change through it all.

I loved the layout of this story, the dual timeline, and how it felt like we started at the third act breakup. It was beautiful to watch Harriet and Wyn fall in love the first time, navigate very common adult relationship struggles, and find their way through it. The bonus was the love and found family story we get between Harriet and her friends. I think Emily has so accurately portrayed this journey from early 20 something to 30 something and the messy bits in between.

I saw so much of my own adult journey in this story, how friendships change as we grow and distance becomes a factor along with big life changes. But the love we have for the foundational people in our life never changes. I can’t recommend this enough and it’s my favorite Emily Henry yet.
