Rosemary's Baby
by Ira Levin
What did we learn today? A gaslighting and emotionally manipulative man is truly the worst thing you could ever come across.
The strength of this story truly rests in its pacing and development. Rather than fear I got to experience tension and a slow build to madness. My main characters also did not experience “fear” per se, so I think it is really fitting that as a reader I just had this looming sense of disquiet and discomfort. I did want the ending to give me a bit more, or to be dragged out a bit longer—but that is just me being nitpicky.
