The Lost Gate
by Orson Scott Card
This was a decent start to the series. I've never read anything by Orson Scott Card, so it's a little weird. I'm definitely getting some weird vibes from this, but I have to admit I'm pretty intrigued by everything that is going on. I'd give it 3.5 out of 5 stars, the biggest detractor was the whole Lana situation. It was just plain gross, and I didn't understand why it needed to be in the story at all. It felt like it was added for the shock factor, but it wasn't just shocking. It was disturbing.
