Thank you, Erin Branch, for this ARC. This book was really interesting.
June is a Dungeons and Dragons YouTuber who uses her character, Awe, to teach viewers about D&D. She recently moved back in with her parents after a break up and reconnected with her high-school friends. One of those friends is Nova, who is also a D&D enthusiast and an author with a secret.
As their D&D group reconnects, June and Nova start catching feelings, but June is straight and isn't sure she understands ger feelings. Nova also doesn't understand their feelings since she started this campaign with different intentions for her character, Hunt, and Awe. Now, they both have to decide if navigating a queer relationship is what they want.
This book has so much representation and is pretty relatable, even if you don't know D&D. I know nothing about the game, and I was slightly confused during some parts when the group was playing, but for the most part, I understood the concept of what was happening. There was a lot of character growth, especially from June, and the spice was very well done.
