Dress Codes for Small Towns by Courtney C. Stevens
4.0

Dress Codes for Small Towns by Courney C. Stevens is about the Hexagon, a group of six friends. Our main character is Billie, and she is in love with all of the Hexagon for different reasons. That's all I knew going into this and I enjoyed myself, if you want to know more just check some other descriptions or the one Goodreads provides. I originally found out about this book from BooksandLala on Youtube.

I was confused at the beginning of this, we were introduced to so many characters at the same time that it took me a while to get used to who everyone was.

I was apprehensive going into this, because I really don't enjoy people liking more than one person, and of course I knew Billie loved all of her friends for different reasons. However, after a few chapters I was a lot happier about the idea of it when you actually see it written down on the page. I felt like anyone could end up with anyone and I wouldn't even care. Closer to the end I kind of changed my mind, but I wasn't 100% opposed to any of them together.

The chapters weren't as short as I usually like but I still got through them surprisingly fast. Even though it took me 4 days to read. I would rather take 4 days and enjoy a book, than take one day and only 'skim' it. And there was one day out of those four where I didn't even get to read.

I didn't find this book surprising, I kind of saw things coming but I still enjoyed it. It didn't feel relatable to me in any way but it was realistic, and I would rather that.

The ending was nice, but I would've loved a more clear ending with who Billie was with. I loved her with Davey and the hint was that she was with Janie Lee, but I guess we'll never officially know.

So pick this up, it is really good and I've only heard positive reviews so far, I didn't LOVE it like a lot of other people, but it is definitely worth the read and I think I would actually enjoy it more on a second read.
