This is the third novel in the Anne of Green Gables series, which I am reading because I am related to the author on my mother's side of the family. The third installment felt weaker than the first two in terms of plot. Not much tension going on, except for the continued tension about marriage (proposed, refused, imagined, etc.). I would have liked more of the homely and humorous anecdotal incidents that colored the first two novels liberally. Still, it was a quick and easy read.
