Whiteout is a series of intertwined Black YA romance stories, set in Atlanta on a night when a snowstorm brings the city to a halt. The novel is collaboratively written with a structural setup is akin to Love Actually, although the story of Stevie’s attempts to win back Sola is definitely the core of this book. Great LGBTIQA representation, some positive mental health storylines, and plenty of use of the friends to more (this is YA and not steamy) trope. The characters mostly felt very mature and socially aware - certainly more so than I remember from my - admittedly very long ago - teen years. A cute read.
