Tokyo Ghoul, Vol. 1 by Sui Ishida

dark mysterious tense fast-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix

5.0

This volume was really good and set the stage on Ghoul Society, which operates as an underground community that deals with turf wars between other ghouls, while simultaneously trying to keep their human-eating ways of survival undercover from the public. Tokyo Ghoul has a very spooky, mysterious and DARK aura surrounding the characters, and really grounds the reader into how deep the issues in Ghoul society go. Given that this is only the first book, there is more to come as the story progresses.
