Thank you to HarperVogerus & Nia Davenport & B2Weird book club for suppling me with this amazing ARC for honest review.

This is a well written and fast paced booked with elements of sci-fi and fantasy. I love the strong protagonist, Ikenna and her imperfection.
Appreciate the topics discussed such as: prejudice, racism, class issues, identity, and acceptance. The author, Nia Davenport does it in a way that is effortlessly.
Loved that there wasn't any romance at all! The military academy / team building approach was great-- the action scenes were *chefs kiss* perfect. Because not everyone can write a action scene that lives you breathless.
Even the political nuances were seamlessly added into the story without being clunky.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and devoured it. I look forward to book 2!
