my kids love this, and I really think it checks all (or most?) of the boxes for an excellent picture book. It's got everything--playful illustration, animals, humor, rhyming, repetition (without being annoying), surprise, and the little guy triumphing. It's not surprising that this is a favorite for a lot of kids--and parents too!
