This picture book retells a classic Bible story with faithfulness and accuracy, has beautiful, ethnically accurate illustrations, and includes an original song. I am very impressed with it, and am glad that I had the chance to read an advance copy. This would be great for families and libraries, and is a wonderful resource for churches, since the author imagines Miriam's point of view without altering the details of the story or inserting historically inaccurate elements. This is a very powerful presentation of a traditional story, and emphasizes women's wisdom and courage alongside God's protection.
