To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo

2.0

I didn’t enjoy this as much as I thought I would. Perhaps it was because I had transitioned from New Adult and Adult books to YA or maybe it was the lack of world building and the speed of the plot.

While it was enjoyable to an extent, it wasn’t something that had me truly hooked. Sure there were one or two good moments but not anything memorable.

It was more about character development than the main plot but the progression of Elian and Lira was way too fast, and I didn’t feel connected at all to both of the protagonists.

The conversations between the characters were fun to read about but a lot of it seemed like your usual YA characters and they all seemed too sharply cut into their character boxes or changed mindsets too quickly.
