I won this book in a giveaway, so it may bias my opinion.
The content of the book is great. The sharing of pain and struggle with a chronic illness is clear and shows the kinds of mental pain that also comes with an invisible illness. I have only good things to say about the content itself and what it tries to show.
I do wish that the poems would have more variety in their style. I found myself a bit disappointed reading a poem that was clearly a metaphor, only to have the metaphor explained to me in the last line. I wish the author would let the flowery language explain itself with imagery instead of making sure to explain it to me. I don't think all of them should be this way, but they all felt very samey after a while. The author clearly has talent and I could see the potential of really allowing the imagery to talk for itself and allow the reader to understand it on their own.
