The Apprentice by Tess Gerritsen
4.0

Rating: 4 stars.

This book was so good. This is what a crime book should be like.
Gerritsen has a unique way of setting up her cases, her crime scenes, and the way she describes procedural. It all shines through in this book in the best way. I loved how detailed she was also in terms of medical examination, and we finally met Maura Isles! I love her more in the books than I do in the show, personally, so I was just happy to see her.
I also really loved the romance subplot in this, and how we finally properly got to know Jane. I feel like that was overdue from the first book.
You can really tell how much Gerritsen knows about what she's writing about, and how her personal knowledge and background influences her writing. This is one of the best examples of how her books are in my opinion, and I just really enjoyed it.
