The Blueprint by S.E. Harmon
3.25
medium-paced

3.25 - meh

This book follows lifelong best friends Blue, an NFL football player, and Kelly, a physics professor. Blue is straight and Kelly gay, but what Blue has never knew, and what Kelly has always internalized, is that Kelly has a big thing for Blue. And it's fine...until Blue sees Kelly in a promiscuous position and starts seeing Kelly in a different light.

This messes with the status quo of their relationship, and what's been brought to light can't be unseen. But Blue is wishy-washy; while all Kelly has ever wanted us to date Blue, Blue's own journey to that point is long.

Blue is so back and forth in this book. He's straight, he's not. He and Kelly mess around, and then he just wants to be friends. Repeatedly. Poor Kelly is getting jerked around, and it kind of makes you hate Blue as a character a bit.

This book was just kind of meh to me. Like nothing stood out about it. It was written decently, but the story and characters are lackluster. There's a sequel to the book, but the first one was so lackluster that I am not planning on reading it whatsoever.
