The Secret Book of Flora Lea
by Patti Callahan Henry
A well-told & lovely story. I had no idea about the historical advent that this book is based around & it was fascinating to discover!
Unfortunately, this book had bad timing because: 1) I’ve read so many books of this genre/format that it’s become increasingly difficult for them to hit a home run, & 2) I’ve been reading Brandon Sanderson at the same time, so every description, emotion, & character in this book was doomed to feel relatively shallow.
