The Only Survivors follows Cassidy and 8 other survivors 10 years after the accident that changed their lives took place in high school.
During the present day, only 7 of them remain. Clara died by suicide, while Ian overdosed and Cassidy only finds out about Ian's death months later after she receives a text of the obituary by an unknown number.
The date of the anniversary of the accident approaches and Cassidy prepares to meet the others at The Shallows, a house they meet at every year as a sort of hommage. A moment they all share in secret without ever talking about the past and all the untold reality they keep from the accident.
Not everyone made it back alive then and the ones that made it out alive, share a burden and a pact that must not come to light.
A very good thriller that keeps you guessing what is hiding between the half truths and lies until the very end. I enjoyed how the events unfolded little by little revealing the truth to the audience.
I also liked the multi POV during the hours preceding and following the accident and the single POV for the present day. It was a good choice as I think a multi POV through the entire story would have been too hard to follow and probably not relevant enough.
