Bossypants by Tina Fey

2.0

There is no one like Tina Fey and I love listening to her tell the story of her life (mostly). I could have listened to more in depth and detail, but memoirs by people in show business (unless tragic or some other significant outlier) aren't supposed to be very long. Anyway, this book is hilarious and I laughed and I will laugh again when I listen to it again and again. She is smart, adorable, fun, witty, observant, interesting, and normal in a lot if not most ways, too. It's just that she has the really smart/really funny brain thing that is a gift. There was a bit of a time jolt when the topic of John McCain being on SNL is described. The book is published in 2011 and covers her time at SNL, so it was just weird to think back that far.

I first read this end of 2015. I re-read it Oct 2017 and found it much less amusing and so much more self-centered. But that’s show business! Right? Could also be that 2016 and 2017 have taken a toll. That is accurate. But it did get me to Parks and Rec which I adore the first 3 seasons of sooo much!! Go Leslie!
