This is not a multicultural book as listed on Amazon. With that said, I enjoyed reading the book. The author wrote characters that were complicated and in need of finding themselves. The hatred the DiMarco and Benedetti families actual!y torn the families apart instead of completely dominating the other. Lucia was so angry with her father for succumbing to the demands of the Benedetti family, she hated everyone. Salvatore felt guilty for what his father did to Lucia and not man enough to stand up to his father like his brother Sergio did before he was killed. As time went on, Lucia gave Salvatore the strength and reason to find the strength he need to take control and break the hold his father had over him and give Lucia her freedom. As fate would have it, both Lucia and Salvatore realized they could not live without each other especially after Salvatore nearly died after his brother Dominic shot him.
I was glad to read that Lucia and Salvatore were able to find their HEA away from the Mafia life. The author was able to keep the reader guessing with the twist and turns of the plot. I was floored to read who Effie's father was, as well as Dominic's paternity. I was not expecting that one. It was an enjoyable read.
