Did this book need to be 509 pages long? Absolutely not but it was. There's Vines and more Vines. Oh and then there's Vines. Did I mention the vines? I just really did not find this book enjoyable. It was way longer than necessary. Nothing of interest happens and it's not scary. Stephen King labeling it as the best horror novel of the new century is wild.
