Someone Else's Fairytale
by E.M. Tippetts
DNF about 65% of the way through. As another reviewer stated, it seemed most of the beginning plot was wrapped up by then, and I couldn't force myself to slog through the mediocre writing to find more. I thought the dialogue was really stiff, and a lot of the responses didn't seem to fit with the line before them. It felt like the author was just trying to get to a point and didn't care if it was how a normal conversation would flow. The whole Matthew thing was really confusing and seemed frivolous when it ended--as did the whole assault trauma. The characters were a little one-dimensional, and it seemed every character besides Chloe and Jason were just vehicles to move the story along instead of adding to the plot. The mom? Okay... Lori? Where was she? The book was free, and I realize it's supposed to be fluff, but even marshmallows hold their shape!
