Tender Is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica

I went back and finished it and for the life of me I wish I hadn’t but I had to get it out and away from me and the only way to do that was finish it and close it and be done with it. The writing was good, maybe even great, but this was not a story for me in so many different ways, but especially the parts with forced birth and animal abuse— and while I can appreciate the commentary, in the end it just made my stomach sour.
