Walking Disaster
by Jamie McGuire
I was worried at first, because I couldn't get in to Abby and Travis' relationship, even though I already knew the story. I think I was expecting a retell of Beautiful Disaster. But about halfway into the book, it dawned on me that would stupid. Why read a story that I alreay know. So with that frame of mind, I continued the roller-coaster of Travis and Abby. However I really felt this book was less about their relationship, (because really I could not understand from Travis' POV what exactly he saw in her - she was terrible and fickle to him!), and more about Travis and the demons that he was wrestling with while pusuing Abby. And that was a great story! Well-written, and I loved how it filled in conversation holes from BD. I didn't like America in this book - she was like Abby, very confusing and fickle. It's amazing how much a different POV will change character persona's. I also appreciated the continuing of their story past where BD ended, seeing a few people's reaction to their impromptu wedding, the consequences of the fire from Travis' last fight, and so on.
