Hooked
by Emily McIntire
It ends with incest? And that’s all you need to know about this kind of insane story about a man with trauma around clocks, a woman with daddy issues, and two people who have a lot of stuff going on in their stomachs/middle/gut? Like a lot of the time? It puts SJM’s “watery bowels” to shame.
Also… (afterthought) I really don’t love the author’s need to put things in that are just inherently sexual violence and framing in a way that’s “dark villain behavior” that we’re supposed to look past in the end. Anyone who’s read this knows the line I’m talking about but, imagining dojng things on her father’s decimated body is not “dark and spicy,” you need therapy.
An interesting concept as a whole. dark romance is not for me I fear.
