Lying in the Deep by Diana Urban

4.0

I love Diana Urban, but this is definitely the best of her books so far!

Jade's life sucks. Her best friend, Lainey, and boyfriend of two years, Silas both dumped her out of the blue and have been dating each other ever since. Since then, she's been looking forward to the semester at sea trip; 11 countries in four months! Everything's going to be alright until she sees Silas and Lainey boarding the Semester at Sea ship too. As she obsesses over them, obsession leads to death and Jade's friends start to get picked off one by one. It's up to Jade and her crush, Felix to clear her name and figure out what's going on before the next port.

At first, I was only really invested in the relationship drama and not the murders. Diana Urban's two newest books, Lying in the Deep and her title set to release this fall, Under the Surface both have romance as a main highlight and as a hopeless romantic at heart, I enjoyed that aspect. To note, I did find this a bit predictable, but Urban always tries to throw you off and I love a good YA thriller! She's one of my favorite standalone YA authors right now!
