Dr. Stanton by T.L. Swan
4.0

Cameron was my favorite character from the whole Stanton series, so I was excited to read his story. I loved the premise of this book and think it was a great story line. However, I don't love the way the author carried the story out.

Cameron and Ashley were great together from the start. The chemistry was immediate and lightning in a bottle. Even when they find each other again...it's still there. But, when the big secret is revealed, Cameron becomes a totally different person. I totally understand the shock he would be in and the immediate reaction he had, but I don't feel he would have treated Ashley the way it was portrayed in this book. He was down right mean and very harsh.

I think the author intentionally created conflict and misunderstandings to create more drama in the book, but I don't think that was really necessary. The story of him finding out what had transpired over the last few years and how he personally works through that would have been a great story. I don't think we needed to go where the story goes...even if he is a really controlling guy.

All in all, I enjoyed the book, but I can't give it 5 stars, as I'm not sure I would reread it. I just don't like how he treated her at some points in the book. And, although I like how the book ended, it felt rushed to me. As a mother myself, I'm not sure I could move on from what happened as quickly as Ashley did...no matter how much I loved someone.
