Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas

4.0

I cried when Sam died and I cried when the thirteen sacrificed themselves. Oh my god my heart broke the most when Narene wasn’t there and Abraxos had to figure out what had happened poor baby. I don’t know why that got me. :(( it tied up nicely, but I was pretty disappointed with Aelin’s choices in this book? Because why the hell would she have forged the new lock with the Wyrdkeys before using her badass powers to fight Sir Perrington Erawan and Queen of gaslighting Maeve?? That made so much sense to me that you could use the keys a bit to kick their butts on the battlefield and then give the gods what they wanted? The ghost of Elena annoyed me a lot in the book not gonna lie. Also why did we not get a more descriptive picture of Terrasen this magical place I had been waiting the whole series to discover more of?  Aedion was a dickhead to Lysandra don’t know if I would have forgiven him but on the other hand Elide should have forgiven Lorcan a lot sooner, that’s the hill I’ll die on. It all worked out in the end and I kind of love the fact that Yrene was the surprise hero of the entire series 🥰 dunno what all that shit about the Forest Fae was? That seemed very random but also I feel like the entire battle between Aelin and Maeve was too easy? Oh well I’m glad not a lot of people died, not that realistic but losing the Thirteen was enough 😭 dunno if I could have handled more tbh.
