Wow. I didn't know what I was going to get but I got something different. This book touches on suicide, grief, depression, addiction and a slew of other serious topics that I typically don't read in my romances. I would highly recommend to check any trigger warnings as mental health and mental illness is a central theme in this book, and I would like everyone to stay safe while reading it. At the same time, I enjoyed this book very much and it sort of reminded me of If We Were Villains, which is not at all a romance book and is more a dark academia psychological thriller, because they both involve characters that are such good actors that they inevitably embody and become who they are pretending to be. I thought the premise of this book was unique, as I don't read many books that deal with repairing marriages, but I loved Mila and Lucas's journey.
