Debra Anastasia has done it again…she delivered a fast paced story with compelling characters that made me laugh and even broke my heart. I couldn’t wait to read Return to Poughkeepsie because I fell in love with Beckett in the first book. Everyone that I love is back plus new and colorful characters!
Can we talk about Trish for a moment? Talk about crazy but honestly, I love this non-present character! She was brilliant and so hilarious! I was dying and Ryan’s reaction to her was priceless, just absolutely priceless.
This is one of those series that you simply can’t get enough of because the story is rich and different and everyone is far from perfect but they either have redeeming qualities or their history moves you to tears. I’m not sure that I know how to explain it but know that I think it’s incredibly fantastic.
Return to Poughkeepsie takes place one year later and Beckett is on a mission to save everyone he loves from himself and the opening scene is brutal. Debra Anastasia certainly knows how to grip the reader from the very first page! The action is non-stop and the story is absolutely riveting.
There is more insight given about Beckett which makes him an amazing anti-hero; he’s deeply flawed but with so many redeeming qualities you can’t help but cheer him on throughout the entire book. The love he has for Eve, his number one weapon, will make your toes curl and their passion for each other will leave you completely breathless or reaching for a cigarette!
If you are looking for a series filled with major drama, jaw-dropping action, humor and gut-wrenching moments…this is it! It’s not your typical love story but that’s one of the many reasons I love it so much! Go forth and one-click because you won’t regret it! ;)
